About Adam

A Journey of Science, Soil, and Stewardship

Dr. Adam Cobb’s path to expertise in ecological stewardship and soil health is rooted in a lifelong passion for the interconnectedness of our bioworld. From farmlands in New Zealand to lecture halls at Oklahoma State University, Adam focused on understanding and partnering with the foundational systems that sustain life on Earth (the holoboints).

From Academia to Global Adventures

Adam's journey began with a transformative experience backpacking across New Zealand in 2008. It was there, while volunteering on organic farms, that he first realized the profound importance of thriving soil ecosystems. This awakening led him back to the United States, where he pursued a Master’s degree in International Agriculture, followed by a Ph.D. in Natural Resource Ecology & Management.

During his academic career, Adam contributed to over 20 research publications, taught a variety of courses, and became deeply involved in ecological soil management and restoration. His work took him to diverse locations around the globe - places like Botswana, China, Nicaragua, and Zambia - where he studied everything from mycorrhizal fungi to regenerative farming practices.

Bridging Research and Practical Applications

Adam’s commitment to bridging the gap between technical and practical applications led him to collaborate with Dr. Elaine Ingham at the Soil Food Web School. Here, he served as a Science Communicator, helping to translate complex scientific concepts into actionable knowledge for farmers, gardeners, and environmentalists worldwide.

Adam found a platform to merge his academic expertise with his passion for public outreach. His work reached a wide array of audiences, empowering people to make informed decisions about soil health and ecological land and soil management.

Vision for the Future

Adam's work is driven by a simple yet profound dream to help cultivate a world where humans coexist with the rest of Earth’s beautiful biosphere. This harmony can only be orchestrated by thriving holobionts. Let’s celebrate what living communities can do!

Holobiont HUB embodies a belief that understanding and working with complex networks of life is essential for the future of our species. Adam invites you to join this journey, exploring new ways of thinking about our environment and building a more resilient future together.
